(Below is another new post of our Family Reunion)
This weekend was full of Excitement!
It started off with the Boy's and I heading to The oldest Farmers Market, west of the Mississippi. It started back in 1779, and has been going ever since. It was quit exciting to take it all in.
That night we headed on over to partake in the Balloon Glow at Forest Park.
Now let me give you a little history on this park. First off it is 1300 acres, that is 500 acres Larger then Central Park. It was dedicated in 1876, and through a lot of work and effort on the city's part has continued it grow.
This park is were they had the 1904 Worlds Fair, You know the Movie, "Meet me in St. Louis" Yep this is the one.
In this park, it has a Free Zoo, Free History Museum, Free Science Center, and a Free Art Museum. It also has a Golf Course, A few Lakes, A Huge Amphitheater. Were we learned actors such as Yul Brenner, Carrie Grant, and many others but those were 2 that stuck out to me. Every summer they do tons of plays and operas. Along with several other things that I'm forgetting, In other words this place totally Rocks!
So they start out this Balloon Race, with a Balloon Glow. Where you can walk around and get up close and personal with the balloons while they blaze it up and keep it afloat.
The next day they start the race. The 60ft Energizer Bunny begins inflating and takes off, then the Race begins all the Hot Air Balloons try to get theirs up in the sky first to follow and catch that bunny. Whoever gets their's the closest wins.
I counted 43, but some had already taken off, and others not up yet. It was quite a sit to see.
This is them, flying over the park. Some of them just dropped anywhere it was a good thing the park is so huge. A few landed right next to us while we were walking back to the train.
We took the Metro Link back home, which was so nice, we didn't have to worry about parking or traffic, and the kids thought it was the Coolest thing Ever.
So at the end of the day we had one Child Shirtless and Another Pant less, but did they care? No way, no shame for these two. They had a blast. And as they say, "Those Hot Balloons were Awesome" So hats off to the Hot Balloons!

That looks like so much fun! I can't believe how big the park was either. Now I've got a question for you...where did you get that awesome double stroller from? If you got it used can you at least tell me the brand and make. We are trying to find a double stroller and yours looks pretty spiffy.
Now you just have to try out the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque...if you think what you saw is something...you aint seen nothing! They have about...750 balloons at least that are all up in 2 hours! Amazing!
That is so cool. How fun that all looked. The boys had to have had a blast.
